The Shire Academy At The Shire Academy we have a variety of programmes which can aid any level of ability. We have experience at The Shire Academy at teaching all levels from tour professionals through to children picking up the golf club for the very first time. The Shire London provides an extensive short game practice area for pitching and chipping. The practice area also includes an undulating putting green for improving your short game. Rookie Club The Shire Academy rookie club is a unique and successful 9 stage development programme for young golfers. Devised, modified and continually updated over 20 years, it provides the ideal platform from which to learn. Simplicity is its key to success. The 9 stages consist of various achievement certificates awarded when a specific key stage is mastered. These consist of: The Hold Stance and Posture Bunker Play Rules and Etiquette Chipping Pitching Putting Woods Basic Swing The scheme is about 'hands on learning' in a small group environment with plenty of constructive encouragement for everyone. To complement these lessons there are monthly medal competitions held on the Academy Course to test or try newly acquired skills. Presentations are always held immediately after the event. These presentations provide members with an opportunity to receive trophies, most improved performance awards, certificates or just to be presented to the group as a 'New' member. By inspiring, motivating and rewarding young players they will go on and develop their true potential.
Group coaching If you want to learn golf in a group of friends or with work colleagues then our Shire Academy group sessions could be ideal for you. We can coach up to groups of 8 at a time which is convenient for the entire group. We can even tailor programmes for you and your friends or colleagues to follow to get the most out of your sessions. Ladies Golf and Coffee Mornings Starting in summer 2009 our Ladies golf and coffee mornings are ideal for those ladies who like to socialise and want to learn golf at the same time. Following an hour's tuition at The Shire Academy with one of our teaching professionals, relax in the clubhouse and enjoy our sumptuous patisseries and a coffee and have a chin wag. Short Game Clinics Finding it hard to lower you score? Losing confidence with your putting and chipping? Then come and see our Short game Specialist. Ceri Menai-Davis is The Shire Academy's short game specialist and will put the fun back into your game by strengthening your short game. May it be pitching, chipping, putting or bunker play Ceri can help you to banish those demons and lower your scores. Short game packages are available or individual lessons can be booked.
